David Harbour, renowned for his portrayal of Jim Hopper in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things, has shed light on the grueling filming process for the upcoming fourth season.
In an exclusive interview with Netflix Tudum, Harbour revealed that the physical and emotional demands of the new season pushed him to his limits.
"It was a brutal season," said Harbour. "There were moments where I thought I couldn't go on, but I somehow found the strength to push through."
One of the most challenging aspects for Harbour was the extended time spent in freezing cold conditions during night shoots. He recalled struggling to maintain focus and warmth while delivering intense scenes.
"I had to wear a very thin costume, and it was freezing," said Harbour. "There were nights when I was shivering so hard I could barely speak my lines."
Despite the physical hardships, Harbour emphasized the importance of embracing the challenges for the sake of the performance.
"It's always difficult when you're trying to be truthful in a role, and especially when you're dealing with such heavy material," said Harbour. "But I think those challenges help you to connect with the character and make it more real."
The upcoming season of Stranger Things is set to premiere on Netflix on May 27, 2022. Fans can expect an even more intense and emotionally charged experience as the characters face new threats and challenges.
