New York Jets Add Depth to Receiving Corps, Sign Veteran Tight End

The New York Jets have added depth to their receiving corps by signing veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah to a one-year contract. Uzomah, 29, has spent the past five seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he has been a reliable target for quarterback Joe Burrow.

Uzomah has 195 receptions for 2,082 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career. He is also a good blocker, which will be valuable for the Jets' running game.

The Jets have been looking for a tight end to complement Tyler Conklin, who they signed in free agency this offseason. Uzomah is a good fit for that role, and he should be able to contribute right away.

The Jets are hoping that Uzomah can help them improve their passing game, which was one of the worst in the NFL last season. The Jets ranked 32nd in passing yards per game and 31st in passing touchdowns per game.

Uzomah is excited to join the Jets, and he is looking forward to contributing to the team's success.

"I'm excited to be a part of this team," Uzomah said. "I think we have a lot of potential, and I'm looking forward to helping us reach our goals."

The Jets are also excited to have Uzomah on board.

"C.J. is a great addition to our team," Jets general manager Joe Douglas said. "He's a tough, physical player who can make plays in the passing game and the running game. We're excited to have him."

Uzomah is expected to start for the Jets in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
